MSU:
- Memphis Win)
- Auburn (Win)
- LSU (Loss)
- Louisiana Tech (Win)
- Georgia (Win)
- UAB (Win)
- South Carolina (Loss)
- Kentucky (Win)
- Tenn Martin (Win)
- Alabama (Loss)
- Arkansas Loss)
- Ole Miss (Win)
Season: 8-4
I’m hopeful State can pull a win against either SC, Alabama or Arkansas to get to 9-3, but I just don’t think they are gonna be able to beat LSU on a Thursday after playing Auburn. Stupid schedule is stupid.
Ole Miss:
- BYU (Loss) [edit NOT Boise]
- Southern Illinois (Win)
- Vanderbilt (Win)
- Georgia (Loss)
- Fresno State (Win)
- Alabama (Loss)
- Arkansas (Loss)
- Auburn (Loss)
- Kentucky (Loss)
- Louisiana Tech (Win)
- LSU (Loss)
- Mississippi State (Loss)
Season: 4-8
Just don’t think UM is going to get it done this year. I think if they can somehow get to 6-6 they should be thanking their lucky stars. Also if I’m right and State beats them again this year that would make 3 in a row. Enough to get a coach fired?
So what are your predictions?
Ole Miss opens with BYU, not Boise State. 6-6 is not out of the question, depends on what kind of QB play we get.
That was strange. I cut and pasted the schedule, and because I knew it was BYU I put the loss. I figure Ole Miss could actually beat Boise. I’ll edit the post.
Where do you think UM will get it’s wins?
MSU – 9-3. I think they’ll beat LSU and Ark, but post an L against a team they should otherwise beat easily…why?? Because it’s MSU. Also, Mullen makes the leap to better program (+ $$$) if he goes 10-2 or better.
OM – 4-8. Your count looks good. Although I can totally see them losing to FresnoSt and/or LaTech. Predict: Nutt gets chopped within hours of losing to MSU by no less than 4TD’s. OM then begs Orgeron to come back who gives them the finger live on ESPN Gameday (shirtless I might add), asks Brewer to come off life support for one year but then realize that mistake after his first 12 plays of the season are fullback dives up the middle – subsequently fire him, and finally throw the bank at Leach who bites & hits the airwaves talking about the relationship of pirates, riverboats, French canals, and homecoming queens that makes zero sense, but is uniformly agreed to as hilarious.
I’d love MSU to get more then 8 wins, but with LSU being played on a Thursday right after a Saturday game versus Auburn I just don’t see us winning that one. Plus, we seem to ALWAYS lose to freaking LSU. Hate those guys.
I think we have a real chance against SC, but I put that one as a loss because everyone keeps harping on how they should win the East. I put that one as 51-49 Loss category. Hoping for a victory there.
I agree Ole Miss could easily lose to Fresno but I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt and figure they should reach 4 wins somehow. I don’t see how they get to 6 wins unless they beat State and I really think we’ll take them again this year.
@berial
Boise State is pre-season top 5-10, BYU is in the other getting votes section. Boise State is the favorite over UGA to open the season.
Ole Miss wins BYU, Southern Illinois, Vandy, Fresno State, Kentucky, La Tech, and MSU. Gotta hope they’ll beat MSU, doesn’t really matter which team is playing better. So that’s 7 and me being very very optimistic. 6 and a trip to some shitty bowl would be nice.
Next weekend is going to be a fun weekend. Still don’t think Ole Miss is going to beat BYU…..Or State.
For what it’s worth, I noticed today that bodog has SEC Champ fav odds:
AL – 9/5
FL – 9/2
GA – 5/1
LSU – 5/1
SC – 6/1
AR – 13/1
TN – 18/1
MSU – 22/1
KY – 66/1
OM – 66/1
Vandy – 150/1
You can argue many things to death based on these odds. However, TN listed with better odds than MSU is just mind boggling. Florida being thrown into first tier is a stretch to say the least as well.
I’m not familiar with bodog but I have to disagree with him. No way Florida is that good. I’d put Georgia and South Carolina ahead of them. What did he rank Auburn?
@Jim
PS: I did not know Boise was going to be good this year. I’ll admit that. Hence the title of the post.
Left them off deliberately, but if you must know: Aawbarn is 28/1. http://www.bodog.eu
Went to the site you linked. I’ve never been able to make heads or tails of betting sites, mostly because I never bet myself.
In addition to your list I found the over/under for regular season play to be interesting. For some reason they left Ole Miss and Vandy off this list AFAICT.
Alabama (10)
Arkansas (8.5)
Auburn (6.5)
Florida (8)
Georgia (8)
Kentucky (6)
LSU (9.5)
MSU (7)
South Carolina (9)
Tenn (6.5)
I can’t really argue with any of those numbers except to say I think(hope?) MSU will win more than 7 and I don’t think Florida will make it to 8.
MSU:
Memphis (Win)
Auburn (Loss)
LSU (Loss)
Louisiana Tech (Win)
Georgia (Loss)
UAB (Win)
South Carolina (Loss)
Kentucky (Loss)
Tenn Martin (Win)
Alabama (Loss)
Arkansas (Loss)
Ole Miss (Loss)
Season: 4-8 (0-8)
Ole Miss:
BYU (Win)
Southern Illinois (Win)
Vanderbilt (Win)
Georgia (Loss)
Fresno State (Win)
Alabama (Loss)
Arkansas (Loss)
Auburn (Win)
Kentucky (Win)
Louisiana Tech (Win)
LSU (Win)
Mississippi State (Win)
Season: 9-3 (5-3)
I’ll file this under the ‘delusional’ folder for you Thile. Don’t worry though, lots of UM fans suffer from this affliction.
Aw c’mon lemme have my fun now before another season with no bowl sucks the life out of my program and I commit seppuku.
This is what I wrote at RCR:
Best case scenario for me is 7-5 (3-5)
I don’t think that is likely, but it is possible. (Wins there are all 4 OOC obviously, 2 out of these 3 – Vandy, UK, and MSU; and 1 surprise win).
Hoping for 6-6 (3-5). // (Or 2-6 maybe?)
Most likely is
seppuku5-7 (2-6) I guess.Holy shit! Where’s the tylenol?!
