I was lucky enough to have seen Watchmen on an Imax in Vegas with two of my oldest friends (and our SO’s). Geeks all three of us. We’ve all read the book and we all liked the movie. I thought the ending was ‘decent’. I could see it worked and I could understand why that direction was taken. That ending makes the film shorter for one thing and it was plenty long enough already. However, the ending didn’t quite work as well as I felt it should have. For one thing I really missed the dialog between Ozy and Manhattan at the end. I felt that was REALLY needed.

I finally saw a write up that captures how I felt about the film so I’ll drop a link to Massawyrm at “ain’t it cool news” for saying what I feel needs to be said about Watchmen the movie. I still think Watchmen the book is probably the best comic ever written.
